SMART Recovery’s partnership with The Fletcher Group is running strong and looking for additional volunteer facilitators. The initiative, funded by a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration, brings SMART Recovery into recovery homes in rural counties across the country. This partnership enables SMART Recovery to increase our footprint in rural communities and fulfill our mission to empower people to achieve independence from addiction problems with our evidence-based 4-Point Program®.
The initiative, which utilizes the SMART Successful Life Skills book, is currently running in approximately a dozen recovery homes, and more homes are being added every week. We are looking to add to our great team of volunteer facilitators to meet the growing demand. *
Here are a few things to know about the program:
- The Successful Life Skills curriculum is covered over twelve sessions, generally held weekly, at recovery homes across the country.
- In most homes, we are running the meetings remotely via Zoom, though we can offer in-person meetings where we have an interested facilitator near the site.
- No previous experience with the Successful Life Skills book is required. When you sign up, we will send you a book and invite you to an orientation session.
If you’re interested in signing up or would just like to learn more about the initiative, please contact Brad Glaser, the project coordinator at [email protected].
*These opportunities are for volunteers in the U.S. only.
