Title: “Insights from a High-Masking Autistic Facilitator”

Description: Do you notice folks in your meeting using fidget toys, stimming, having relational challenges and/or stimulus sensitivities? Do they present as experiencing ADHD or being on the autism spectrum, perhaps without a diagnosis? Do they “info dump” during check in? As an LGBTQ2IAS+ identifying high-masking Autistic, Kitty will bring a unique perspective to these behaviors. We’ll focus on how rejection sensitivity syndrome informs motivation, the neurology of how addiction activators can be even more challenging for neurodivergent folks, and the importance of modelling compassion and relational connection while facilitating meetings.

Learning Objectives:

After the session participants will be able to:

  • Define: intersectional, neurodiverse, neurodivergent, neurotypical, autism spectrum, masking, info dumping, rejection sensitivity, and spoon theory.
  • Brainstorm potential meeting facilitation adaptations, and
  • Modify ways to share a Cost Benefit Analysis, ABC, and Lifestyle Balance tool for these individuals (and maybe everyone?!)
